JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – Erin Donovan continued her charge up the leaderboard in the final round of the Jekyll Island Collegiate, leading Piedmont women’s golf with a T-2 finish after a final round 75.
The standout sophomore opened with a 79, but made a considerable move Saturday with a 73 and followed it up in the final round, making it all the way up into a tie for second place on the individual leaderboard after a 3-over 75 on Sunday.
Donovan earned an All-Tournament finish after making birdie on two of her final three holes for her 75.
As a team, the Lions fired a final round 334 after rounds of 333 and 314 in the first two rounds, good for 11th place out of 18 teams competing.
Donovan’s was the only round in the 70’s on the day as Shelby Clark posted an 82 and Keegan Goins added an 87 with a birdie.
After a fantastic 75 in the second round, Sarah Fox backed up with a 92 to close out her tournament with a non-counting score. Abigail Evans posted a 90 with a birdie on the par-3 12th for Piedmont’s final counting score.
Wellesley took the team title by six shots over Williams College while Emma Abramson of Williams College was the only player to best Donovan on the individual side, claiming the trophy by four strokes.
Up next, the Lions will have a few weeks off before teeing it up next at the Emory Invitational, beginning April 15 in Florence, Alabama.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
– Donovan reeled in another top-5 finish with a strong close on Sunday. So far in the 2023-24 season, the sophomore has five top-five finishes in seven total events.
