Dog casting call for Annie

Does your dog have what it takes to star in one of Habersham County’s hottest musicals?

North Habersham Middle School will be presenting the musical , Annie on March 27th-28th in the NHMS Gym and are in need of a dog to play the role of Sandy.  The directors are asking for “Dog Headshot” submissions to find the perfect fit for the show. The mutt chosen will need to be good with kids, obey commands and stay put/come when called.

Paula Gibson, the director of the show is wanting a mutt mixed breed to fill the role but all submissions will be looked into.  Only five dogs will be chosen to attend the callback/meet and greet with the Directors and the actress who plays Annie on March 9th at 4:30PM.  You will be notified by March 1st if your dog was chosen to attend the callback/meet and greet. Please be advised, you must be available March 9th at 4:30PM, March 20th for the first full run and all final rehearsals the week of the show (March 23rd-26th) as well as the performance dates on the 27th and the 28th.

If chosen, your dog will be presented in all three shows on the 27th (9:00am, 1:30PM & 7:30PM) along with the final performance on March 28th at 7:30.  The owner will also recieve free tickets for his or her family for the show as well as photos of the scene your pet was in.

About the show:

Annie is a musical about the world famous orphan, Little Orphan Annie. She grows up in an overcrowded orphanage with the terrible Ms. Hannigan. Annie is chosen to spend Christmas with the billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, in his larger-than-life mansion and gets the opportunity to meet some amazing friends along the way.  “Tomorrow” and “Hard Knock Life” are just two of the songs featured in the play and made famous when Annie hit Broadway and the silver screen in the 1980s.
