Habersham County’s long time school transportation director Tim Dockery is retiring. The Habersham County Board of Education accepted his retirement during a special called meeting Monday. School system superintendent Matthew Cooper said Dockery “has served the Habersham County School System for 33 years.” Dockery has served as “teacher, bus driver, and Transportation Director” during that time, he added.
“Tim is a great person and he has done great work in the positions he has held in our school system,” Cooper continued.
Dockery was a science teacher at Habersham Central High School from 1985-1999. He left to become the school system’s Transportation Director — a position he has held for the past 16 years.
“In the four years I have been here, Mr. Dockery has been a huge help to me. His wisdom and experience have been invaluable to me and to our school system. I wish him nothing but the best as he transitions to retirement in late November,” Cooper said.
Dockery’s retirement will be effective November 30, 2015.
