(Cleveland)- A male student at White County High School is okay after, according to school officials, he had some emotional issues going on Monday morning around 10 AM , ran off the school campus across the road and climbed up a tree. Fire, medical and law enforcement were dispatched, primarily in reference to the students safety.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jeff Wilson said, “you know you never know when somebody is a little emotionally distraught and some issues are going on, it worked out great. We’ll make sure that the kid is taken care of and appreciate everybody’s hard work.”
After about an hour and half talking with the youth, by school officials and others, trying to coax him to climb down, School Resource Officer, Brent Maddox climbed up a fire truck ladder and persuaded him to come down.
Dr. Wilson said, the school resource officer spent a lot of time with the young man.” After he was safely on the ground, the student was taken inside a White County Emergency Medical Service ambulance for evaluation.
