Dinner And A Movie: Back to the Future II

"Back to the Future 2" will be presented at the Habersham Community Theatre as part of the dinner and a movie night out on Saturday, May 2nd.

Clarkesville Main Street is again teaming up with the Habersham Community Theater and local restaurants for the city’s second Dinner And A Movie event coming this Saturday, May 2. The film featured this time is the American favorite, Back to the Future II. Clarkesville’s first Dinner And A Movie event celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the Steven Spielberg film Jaws and attracted a huge fan base in March.

“For this particular show we’ve chosen Back to the Future II. The reason we did that was because (in the movie) they go to 2015.” Horton says it’s fun to see the predictions the movie makes about the future,”…like we’re supposed to be on hover boards right now,” she laughs.

Dinner specials

The movie will play twice on Saturday – a 3:30 matinee and 7:30 p.m. show. The $8 ticket gets you into the movie and gives you access to some great local food deals. On the back of each ticket are specials and discounts offered by seven restaurants in Clarkesville. When you present your ticket stub at the restaurant they’ll redeem it for the advertised special or discount.

Several of the restaurants are offering Back to the Future themed items. Java Joes will serve Flux Capacitor Brownies; Midtown Grill is offering the Hill Valley Special. “They’ve really gotten into it and those specials are only for ticket holders,” says Horton.

Local Restaurants will offer "movie night" deals for those attending the Dinner and Movie event.

Concessions will be sold at the theater and movie goers can also purchase beer and wine to enjoy during the film.”It’s a very intimate venue that’s small and quaint but it’s got all the amenities of a major cinema.” She adds, “It’s just a fun event and we hope that people come out. It’s a great family movie, so, bring the kids.”

Seating is limited. Reserve your tickets now by calling 706-839-1315 or visit the Habersham Community Theater website at habershamtheater.org.
