Derrell Eugene Maxwell, age 80, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021, following an extended illness.
Born in Bakersfield, California, on February 09, 1940, he was a son of the late Ivan & Ruby Tapp Maxwell. Derrell proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a self-employed contractor for IBM Computers for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marjorie Rebecca Spires Maxwell; brothers, Bobby, Leroy, Billy, Guy, & Gordon Maxwell; sisters Patsy Foster, Sandra Harper, & Shirley Cookton.
Survivors include his daughter, Melanie Maxwell of Clarkesville, GA; stepdaughter & son-in-law, Sharon & Bob Belew; grandchildren, Catherine Parker, Jason Parker, and Rachel & Logan Hill; nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
Mr. Maxwell’s wishes were to be cremated.
