Deputy treated for dog bite

A domestic disturbance call led to a trip to the hospital for one local deputy. The incident happened shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday. That’s when the officer, whose name has not been released, responded to the call at a residence on Nancy Town Road in Mt. Airy. While attempting to investigate the incident, the deputy was bit by a dog that belonged to the resident of the home, according to the sheriff’s office.

The deputy was treated and released for his injuries at Habersham County Medical Center.
