Another alleged cocaine trafficker has been arrested in Northeast Georgia following a traffic stop.
On Wednesday, May 24, a Rabun County deputy stopped a vehicle on GA 15/US 441 after observing multiple traffic violations.
After making contact with the driver, deputies conducted a probable cause search. During the search, deputies discovered six kilos of suspected cocaine and eight ounces of suspected marijuana, the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office says.
The drugs have an estimated street value of $183,000.
Authorities arrested Kerry Stratton of Leicester, North Carolina, without incident and charged her with trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, following too closely, and failure to maintain lane.
As of Friday afternoon, May 26, Stratton was being held at the Rabun County Detention Center without bond.
Stratton is at least the third alleged cocaine trafficker to be nabbed during a traffic stop in Northeast Georgia within a week.
On May 18, Jackson County deputies conducted a traffic stop in Commerce and arrested two people from Toccoa. Authorities say Leonardo Gabriel Steeple, 45, and Aija Monique Wilson, age 38, were taken into custody after deputies found over a pound of cocaine in their vehicle.
