Denzer Bill Taylor

Denzer Bill Taylor, age 95, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017.

Mr. Taylor was born on November 1, 1921, in Clarkesville, Georgia; a son of the late Tatum Hubert and Myrtle Elizabeth Alley Taylor. Denzer was also preceded in death by his wife, Lois Irene Harper Taylor and sisters, Estelle Gailey. Callie Morrison, Hester Acree, and Ella Stephens. He went to I.C.S. and North Georgia Tech. Mr. Taylor was a United States Army Veteran having bravely served his country in Company F, 18th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division known as Big Red One. As a Sergeant, he served in five campaigns, earning a Bronze Star and Purple Hearts. He was a Loom Fixer at Clarkesville Mill and later a brick and stone mason and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Annette and Carven Banks, Demorest, GA and Robin and Scott Lovell, Clarkesville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Denzer and Lynn Taylor, Clarkesville, GA; sister, Edna Taylor of Walnut Grove, GA; grandchildren: Terri Byers and husband, David, Clarkesville, GA, Chris Banks and wife, Amy, Cumming, GA, Meggan Lovell Morgan, Clarkesville, GA, and Brent Lovell, Clarkesville, GA; and great-grandchildren: Nathan and Erin Byers, Clarkesville, GA, Avery and Taylor Banks, Cumming, GA, and Taylen Morgan, Clarkesville, GA.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Tommy Stowe officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the funeral home.
