The Demorest City Council will hold a public hearing Tuesday during its regular meeting to receive public comments about the new land use ordinance and discuss ARPA fund allocations.

The council has been working to update its land use ordinance for more than a year in preparation for the anticipated growth expected in the coming years. Habersham County, as well as several of the cities, have been updating their land use ordinance over the last year due to the progression of the inland port coming to Hall County.

The City Council and staff will discuss the allocation of remaining ARPA funds for projects throughout the city.

During its work session, the council will receive an update on the tactical analysis funding that grant writer Brad Day has been working on over the summer.

The Demorest City Council will meet Tuesday, November 11. The work session will begin at 6 p.m. with the regular meeting beginning at 7 p.m. or immediately following the conclusion of its work session. Both meetings will be held at the Demorest Municipal Conference Center located at 250 Alabama Street in Demorest.
