Water service is slowly being restored to Demorest residents affected by an outage Tuesday evening.
The city issued an advisory around 7 p.m. on Feb. 25 stating that the leak in the area of Highways 105 and 17 has been repaired.
“Affected areas should slowly start receiving water as the tank builds up,” the advisory stated.
According to the city, service to the area was disrupted when a utility contractor hit the main line and drained over 200,000 gallons of water from the system.
