A Demorest man is behind bars, charged with murdering his brother. Authorities arrested 53-year-old Dennis Wayne Taylor early this morning for the death of 47-year-old Donnie Mitchell Taylor. The two men lived together in a residence located at 2880 Highway 115 in Demorest.
The accused called Habersham County 911 around 2:30 a.m. Friday and reported that his brother was dead. When officers arrived they discovered Donnie Taylor dead “from a wound caused by a sharp edged instrument,” according to the GBI.
An investigation by the GBI and Habersham County Sheriff’s investigators led to the older brother’s arrest.
Donnie Taylor’s body was transported to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy. Dennis Taylor was charged with murder and booked into the Habersham County Jail.
The GBI says the investigation continues.
