A student success coach from Murphy, North Carolina, is this year’s NGTC Employee of the Year.
Tina Dellaposta works with students on the Blairsville campus. She’s been employed by NGTC since 2013 and previously served as bookstore assistant and in the library part time. Dellaposta is a 23-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and an NGTC graduate. Her fellow staff members nominated her, complimenting her welcoming spirit, joyful attitude, and willingness to always go above and beyond to help students, faculty, and staff.
In accepting the honor during the college’s recent annual service awards luncheon, the new employee of the year said she was humbled and honored to be chosen.
“Though I am very grateful, I recognize this as a team award because it takes a team to ensure our students are provided exceptional customer service along with a supportive and encouraging learning environment,” said Dellaposta. “Everyone at NGTC works hard, so it is a privilege to be selected to hold this team award for the year. I am very thankful to work with this outstanding NGTC team.”
“Tina deserves this award as recognition of her standard of excellence in serving students and helping them achieve their goals,” said Dr. Vinson Burdette, NGTC vice president of student affairs. “She exemplifies the positive and encouraging approach of meeting students where they are and prioritizing their best interests. Tina is positive, engaging, resourceful, and supportive. We are glad to have her on our team!”
At home in North Carolina, Dellaposta enjoys serving through her church, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and pets.
