Deadly Labor Day Holiday on Georgia’s roads

The Georgia State Patrol reports 13 people died in automobile accidents on Georgia’s roads over the long 78-hour Labor Day holiday.

Two of those fatalities occurred here in Northeast Georgia. A Habersham County woman was killed in a rollover wreck on GA 365 Sunday afternoon and a 1-year old child from Dahlonega died in a wreck Monday in Cleveland.

The official holiday travel period began at 6 p.m. Friday, September 2  and ended at midnight Monday, September 5.

Last year during a similar travel period, nine people died on Georgia’s roads.
