If you’re looking for a fun day or overnight trip during New Year’s, you might want to set your sights on Dollywood.
Surrounded by the picturesque Smoky Mountains in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, this theme park offers something for everyone in the family. There are rides for thrillseekers and the faint of heart, a variety of shows, and plenty of family dining options.

Each night from now through January 4, the theme park lights up with over 5-million Christmas lights as part of Dollywood’s annual Smoky Mountain Christmas celebration.
