Daniel Orr, age 60, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023.
Born on September 24, 1962, he was a son of the late Fred M. Orr and Ellen Hamilton Orr.
Mr. Orr was a self-employed mechanic and owned Big Katz Converters; in earlier years, he owned Sherwood Jewelers. Daniel was a talented jeweler and amateur race car driver. He is described by his family as being a kind, generous, and loving father, brother, grandfather, and brother.
Survivors include son Chad Orr of Cornelia; grandchildren Cody Orr, Landon Orr, and Jackson Orr; brother Victor Orr of Mt. Airy; sister Laura Halferty of St. Petersburg, Florida; niece Gray Dean of St. Petersburg, Florida; two aunts; and numerous cousins.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
