Daniel Clyde Carpenter, age 77, of Lula, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
Born on June 13, 1947, in Lula, he was a son of Bobbie Jordan Carpenter of Baldwin and the late Ulysses Richard Carpenter. Daniel graduated from Banks County High School in 1965. Soon after, he was drafted into the military and served honorably in the U.S. Army.
In 1975, he married Donna Martin, and they became grateful parents of a miracle son. They were then blessed with twins. Daniel was a hard worker and provider from a young age and this continued as he worked for 42 years with Bell South/At&T before retiring. He was a long-time attendee of Rock Springs Baptist Church and was respected for his humbleness, generosity, honesty, and integrity. He is remembered for his love of his family and those around him. Spending time with family, cooking and eating a good meal, and making others laugh were some of his favorite things to do. In his spare time, he enjoyed music, animals, Georgia football, and the Atlanta Falcons.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn Zimmerman (Larry); brother-in-law, Mike Crawford; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Carpenter.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Donna Martin Carpenter of Lula; sons and daughter-in-law, Matthew Carpenter (Rebekah) of Gainesville and Jordan Carpenter of Lula; daughter, Ashley Carpenter of Gainesville; grandchildren, Olivia Carpenter, Landon Carpenter, and Brooks Valk; brother and sister-in-law, William Carpenter (Betty Jean) of Lula; sisters and brother-in-law, Wilda Holcomb (Wayne) and Carol Crawford all of Baldwin; numerous extended relatives and friends.
