Dahlonega man killed in White County wreck

(Cleveland)- A 92-year-old Cleveland man will likely face charges in a deadly crash that happened Sunday afternoon on Alt. 75 north of Cleveland, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Cpl. Joshua Hedden said troopers responded to the fatal accident just after 12:45 p.m. Hedden said a 1994 Honda Accord being driven by George Lee Watson of Cleveland was traveling southbound on the highway and he was attempting to make a left turn onto John Head Road.

Watson collided head-on with a Suzuki motorcycle being operated by 65-year old Larry James Robinson of Dahlonega.

Another motorcycle, a Yamaha RD 400, was traveling directly behind the Suzuki and attempted to avoid the crash, turning over on its side. Robinson was killed in the crash. The operator of the Yamaha, identified as 31-year old Joshua Charles Robinson,  of Dahlonega, sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle, according to Hedden.

Watson was not injured in the crash.

Alternate Highway 75 was closed to traffic for about two hours as a result of the crash.
