A car collided with a Fieldale truck in Hall County on Thursday, killing the car’s driver. 24-year old Matthew Novotny died in the crash that occurred around 11:48 a.m. on GA-60 north of Tomacheche Trail near Murrayville.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Novotny was driving a 1991 Dodge Shadow south on Hwy. 60 when he ran off the road, overcorrected, and ran into the path of the oncoming truck.
36-year-old Alan Garcia of Murrayville was driving the 2019 Mack tractor-trailer owned by Fieldale Farms. The truck struck the car on the right side. After impact, both vehicles ran off the road and down an embankment. The Dodge Shadow then struck a tree.
Both vehicles ended up facing northwest on the west side of the highway. The wreck did not injure Garcia.
GSP says no charges will be filed.
