DA: No criminal charges in Mt. Airy infant death

The District Attorney says no criminal charges will be filed in last year’s death of a baby in Mt. Airy. Lamar Robinson died on October 2, 2016. He was 4 months old.

Mt. Airy Police asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to investigate the infant’s death. An autopsy was performed and the results were forwarded to Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney George Christian.

Christian tells Now Habersham the noted cause of death was Sudden Unexplained Death in Infancy (SUDI). “There was not any natural or traumatic cause of death identified,” Christian says. “The toxicology report did not reveal any alcohol or drugs in the baby’s system.”

Christian calls it an” extremely sad case.” He says that after reviewing the case his office has decided not to file any criminal charges.
