Cruise-In, concert, fireworks and photo contest TONIGHT in Clarkesville

The City of Clarkesville and Clarkesville Main Street are hosting a big evening of FREE family entertainment tonight and you’re invited!

 The evening begins with a Classic Cruise-In at 6 p.m. on the downtown square, followed by a concert and fireworks at Pitts Park.

The events were originally planned as part of the Mountain Laurel festival activities, but were postponed due to inclement weather.

Classic Car Cruise-In

unnamed-5Park and show off your wheels in downtown Clarkesville. All classic cars, bikes and trucks welcome! Located in the upper parking lot of the old courthouse, adjacent to the gazebo. All makes and models will be on display, and prizes will be awarded.

There is no fee to enter. Registration begins at 5 p.m. Final judging will take place at 8 p.m.

Red, White and Tunes

Laughter, music and fireworks will fill the night air during Clarkesville’s big “Red, White and Tunes” celebration in Pitts Park.

Bounce houses and inflatable slides, as well as water sprinklers will provide pre-entertainment park activities starting at 7 p.m. The Clarkesville Kiwanis Club will be serving concessions so be sure to bring some spending money.

Based out of the Atlanta area, the popular band, Haywire will take the stage at 7:30PM. Haywire plays a variety of favorites mixed with edgy country and southern rock to satisfy a wide mix of guests.

The evening will be capped off by a spectacular fireworks display beginning at 9:30 p.m. Clarkesville Main Street Director MaryBeth Horton says the best viewing for fireworks will be in Pitts Park. You can also get good views from the former courthouse parking lot and gazebo area in downtown Clarkesville.
