Perhaps it was the hayrides, the bounce house, or lobster rolls. Maybe it was the popup marketplace or cornhole tournament. It very well could have been the crisp, fall evening air. Whatever it was that drew people to downtown Clarkesville’s Fall Festival on Friday, it sure did draw a lot of them.
Crowds filled the parking spaces and downtown streets for the second annual event on Friday, October 7.
Though only two and a half hours long, the festival attracted hundreds of people eager to spend an evening full of “fun, festivities, fellowship, and friends,” as Sheila McCutcheon of the Fairview Community puts it.
Former Habersham County resident Jeff Kelly drove up from his new home in Gainesville to attend the Habersham Community Theater’s production of Clue. Before the play, he soaked up the festival atmosphere and spent time in Clarkesville’s new Cigar Bar.
Many downtown businesses stayed open late to cater to the crowds and pull in some extra business.
The Fall Festival was organized by Clarkesville Main Street.
