Firefighters put out an apartment fire last week, according to the Athens-Clarke County Fire Department.
Crews responded to the multifamily structure fire on Vine St. at 10:47 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, finding heavy flames and smoke coming from an apartment on the first floor.
The crew then attacked the fire’s origin and established a water supply as they conducted a primary search, evacuated residents and performed ventilation throughout the building.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
