A wreck Friday afternoon on U.S. 441/GA 15 near Hollywood sent three people to the hospital. The crash at the intersection of John Wood Road also resulted in charges being filed against one of the drivers.
Troopers were called to the scene just before 4 p.m. on June 3. They say Rocky Sweeten, 39, of Clarkesville was driving a Ford F150 east on John Wood Road when he pulled into the path of a southbound Ford F250. Sweeten’s truck struck the rear driver’s side of the other pickup driven by Allie Menge, 30, of Clayton.
The wreck injured both drivers and a passenger in the Ford F250, identified as Adrian Greer, 49, of Rabun Gap. Troopers say Greer was not wearing a seatbelt.
Habersham County EMS transported all three to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with non-life-threatening injuries, says county emergency services Capt. Matt Ruark.
Troopers charged Sweeten with failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign and violating tire requirements.
