Investigators have identified the couple found dead inside a parked car outside a business in north Hall County. Kevin Anthony Lacey, 59, and Janice Ruth Dye, 52, were found shot to death in an apparent assisted suicide and suicide. The two were in a relationship, officials say.
According to the initial investigation, Lacey shot Dye with a handgun and then shot himself. Investigators recovered a handgun from the car and a note, believed to be from the couple.
The deaths occurred between Monday evening, April 26, and Tuesday morning, according to initial details. An employee of a business on Ga. 60/Thompson Bridge Road, in the area of Farm Road, discovered the bodies in a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria in the business parking lot and called 911 around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27.
Sheriff’s detectives continue to investigate the case. The bodies have been sent to the GBI Crime Lab for autopsy.
