County officials continue to assess flood impact

(Cleveland)- White County officials continue assessing damage from this week’s flooding, including the Thursday afternoon storm that hit the county hard with heavy rainfall, resulting in numerous flooding events, several landslides, and even a swift water rescue.

White County Public Safety Director David Murphy said Friday morning we are still assessing the damage.   As of  8:30 AM Friday here is a list of roads in the county affected by the storms this week:

White County Closed:

Sandy Flats – Will be closed all weekend – will start working on it on Monday

Roy Powers – Bridge

Carolina Springs Rd – Closed

Bottoms Road off GA Hwy 17 — back open.

White County Passable w/Caution:

Bean Creek

Charlie Thomas

Chastain

Davidson

Cabin Creek

Webb West

Barrett London

Lynch Mountain

Ed Lewis

Barrett Mill

Yonah Valley

State Highways:

No closures at this time, several areas where mudslides occurred are passable with caution.  GDOT working.
