Habersham County is preparing to launch its new website. A site redesign has been in the works since last year. Augusta-based web design company Southfire is working on the upgrade. County Manager Phil Sutton says Southfire is doing the work under its existing contract and the project isn’t costing the county any more money.
“We didn’t go in and re-edit the old website; it’s a brand new one,” Sutton says. He says information has been updated and pared down to make the new site simpler, relevant and more user-friendly. “It will be easier to use, especially from a mobile device and it will be more attractive graphically.” The new site will include video.
County department heads are currently reviewing their departments’ redesigned web pages. The new site is expected to be launched within the next few weeks.
