During the hottest week of the summer so far, Cornelia’s splash pad has not been operational. However, there is good news for young and old alike that enjoy the cool water during the hot summer days. It may be up and running sooner than later.

According to Cornelia City Manager Dee Anderson, the splash pad became inoperable last Friday due to torn-up chemical probes.

“We have ordered new ones, and they are supposed to be here today. We hope to have it operational by this weekend,” he tells Now Habersham.

As summer days get hotter and hotter over the next few months, that is good news and will be a welcome relief for those looking for a family-friendly spot to cool off.

The splash pad is at 102 Grant Place off Clarkesville Street beside the historic train depot in Cornelia.
