Sawyer Brown fans will have to wait until next year to see them in concert in Cornelia.
The country music group was to have headlined a downtown summer concert on August 28. Cornelia’s Hospitality & Tourism Board today announced it has rescheduled that concert due to the Coronavirus and concerns for the public’s well being. Says hospitality board president Linda Anderson, the board “wants to make sure the concert is a safe environment so everyone enjoys it and feels comfortable.”
The Sawyer Brown concert is now rescheduled for October 9, 2021. The concert will still be held at 301 South Main Street in Cornelia. More details will be released at a later date.
This is the latest large community event in our area to be postponed or canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Clarkesville postponed its Mountain Laurel Festival until September, Demorest canceled this month’s Glorious Fourth Celebration, and the Chattahoochee Mountain Fair canceled until next year.
The Georgia Mountain Fair in Hiawassee also has been canceled.
