Cornelia Police seek public’s help to ID theft suspect

Cornelia Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man suspected of stealing hundreds of dollars worth of tools from a local home improvement store. They’ve issued a lookout for the suspect and released surveillance photos of him and his getaway car.

The alleged theft occurred last month at the Lowe’s on Carpenters Cove Lane in Cornelia.

CPD Sgt. Brandon Loggins says, “On August 16th this subject walked into Lowes and selected a set of DeWalt tools and walked out the door with them.” He says the suspect jumped into the back of a waiting vehicle that sped off. Police are also seeking information about the driver of that car.

The suspect and car are seen in these screen grabs taken from surveillance video.

The stolen tools are valued at over $500.

If you have any information about the alleged crime or suspects, please call Sgt. Loggins at the Cornelia Police Department at 706-778-4314.
