Days after asking for the public’s help to find a missing man, the Cornelia Police Department now says he is no longer missing.
Police Chief Johnathan Roberts tells Now Habersham the investigation into Ahmed Mostafa’s disappearance revealed he moved out of his family’s residence without leaving a forwarding address or phone number.
The 39-year-old was reported missing after he was last seen at his residence in Cornelia on February 17.
“We are no longer considering Mr. Mostafa missing,” Chief Roberts told Now Habersham in an email sent Thursday morning, March 21. “We have no evidence or reasoning to believe that he is a missing person.”
The police department alerted the public to Mostafa’s disappearance in a news release on its Facebook page. That post has since been deleted.
