Cornelia police investigating report of armed robbery at vape shop

Cornelia police are searching for a man who held up a local vape shop at gunpoint.

At 11:45 p.m. on August 23, officers were called to Vape World at 623 North Main Street for a report of an armed robbery.

The victim told police he was approached from behind and held at gunpoint and was told to retrieve the money from the register.

Police describe the suspect as a middle-aged Black man with a large build, approximately 6 to 6′ 5″ in height. He was wearing an all-black jumpsuit, black ski mask, black gloves, and no shoes.

“At this time, we believe this is an isolated incident, but we encourage everyone to use extra caution,” says Cornelia Police Chief Jonathan Roberts.

The police chief advises all business owners “to be vigilant in their daily operations. Take time to make sure your surveillance system is in good working order and that the desired camera angles have not been disturbed.”
