The annual Cornelia Music Festival is set to take place from 4-10 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the location of city’s new amphitheater venue – which is planned at 107 Grant Place.

While the amphitheater, in its entirety, won’t be finished until early-2027, the site will be graded in time for the festival, which will feature a range of local musicians before the main act – Country Music Hall of Fame artist Marty Stuart.

Local bands to perform will include Headed South, Katie Deal, Michele Little and Holding Ghosts.

Project details

The amphitheater, part of a larger city park project off Grant Place, will eventually have a (outdoor) seating capacity of 5,000 and is funded in part by a $1 million grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission.

Phase I of the project, which includes the park, is estimated at $2.1 million – paid from the grant, SPLOST funding and the city’s general fund. That phase is expected to be completed by December 2025. Phase II is slated for completion in 2026 for $1.5 million from the city’s general fund.
