A 35-year-old Cornelia man has been arrested and charged with molesting a 14-year-old girl.

The alleged incident occurred last summer, according to the arrest warrant. The Cornelia Police Department began investigating on May 25. Police Chief Chad Smith says the investigation led to Kenneth Earl Jackson’s arrest for aggravated child molestation.

Police arrested Jackson on May 26 and turned him over to the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office.

“The investigation is ongoing and there are no other victims,” Smith says.

A magistrate judge denied Jackson bond. He remains in the Habersham County Detention Center.
