Cornelia Main Street and merchants to host Halloween bash

Trick-or-Treat, Trunk-or-Treat and costume contest planned October 31st

Cornelia is getting into the spirit of things again this Halloween; businesses will be passing out lots of free candy and Cornelia Main Street is hosting a costume contest.

The Cornelia Business Association will host Trick-or-Treat outside downtown businesses from 3-6 p.m. on October 31st. “This year, we have also decided to open this up for all of our Cornelia Businesses,” says Cornelia Community Development Manager Jessie Owensby. “Those who are not located in Downtown but want to participate will host a trunk-or-treat in the Depot parking lot.”

The costume contest begins at 5 p.m. at the Depot. The winner gets a prize.

“We are looking forward to a good turn out for Trick-or-Treat,” says Owensby. “This is such a fun holiday and I’m glad we can all come together as a community and just enjoy it again this year. Last year, people swarmed us beyond what we ever expected and we loved it!”

Cornelia Business Association member Stan Crump says, “Habersham Hardware is excited to be a part of the Downtown Cornelia trick-or-treat costume contest again this year. We are supporting (it) locally by our employees dressing up in costumes, as well. Come see us!”
