It’s been a month since Tropical Storm Irma swept through North Georgia. Now, the City of Cornelia is urging residents to get their storm brush cleaned up and ready for the chipper.
The city issued the following notice:
“The City of Cornelia is urging the public to get their brush from the recent storm cleaned up and placed at the street prior to Monday, October 23rd, 2017. Make sure it is brush only and no leaves. After the 23rd we will only have one chipper truck running and it will take us longer to get the brush removed. The leaf vacumn will begin running on Monday, October 30th. Please make sure there are no limbs or other items mixed with your leaves. Thank You!”
Tropical Storm Irma caused widespread power outages and damage across the southeast. Habersham and Banks Counties were the two hardest hit inland counties in Georgia, according to state officials.
