The Cornelia Fire Department lost a beloved buddy this week when K9 Cleo passed away.
The department announced with sadness that Cleo’s End of Watch was on June 5. The department did not say how she died.
Cleo was a search and rescue K9 that had been with CFD for years. Firefighters often took her to local schools where children met and fell in love with her and her gentle demeanor.
In a post to social media, the fire department said, “It’s with great sadness we announce the passing of K9 Cleo. Cleo served the community as a search and rescue K9 and left a lasting impression on anyone she met. She will be deeply missed.”
