The City of Cornelia is getting into the Halloween spirit this year as the Cornelia Business Association puts on its Downtown Trick-or-Treat event. Several different downtown businesses will be handing out candy on Monday, Oct. 31st from 3-5 p.m. and the Cornelia Main Street program will host a costume contest.
The contest begins 4:45 p.m. at Cornelia’s Historic Train Depot. The winner will receive a prize.
Community Development Manager Jessie Owensby says, “We are looking forward to a good turn out for Trick-or-Treat. This is such a fun holiday and I’m glad we can all come together as a community and just enjoy it.”
Habersham Hardware will host its own costume contest inside its store. Trick-or-treaters can vote at the store and the winning employee will get a prize.
Cornelia Business Association member Stan Crump says, “Habersham Hardware is excited to be a part of the Downtown Cornelia trick-or-treat costume contest. We are supporting locally by our employees dressing up in costumes as well. Come see us!”
