
An annual cycling event set to come through Cornelia will bring road closures later this month, according to city officials.
The city of Cornelia has officially approved a special event permit for the annual Northbeast Cycling Classic, organized by Topview Sports. The event is scheduled to take place on March 16, running from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
As part of the event, several streets will be closed to traffic to ensure the safety of participants and spectators. The following roads will be affected:
- Clarkesville Street (from Stovall Alley to Main Street)
- Elrod Street (from Second Street to Clarkesville Street)
- Cox Street (from Second Street to Rosa Parks)
- MLK Street (from Second Street to Clarkesville Street)
- Second Street (from Cox Street to Elrod Street)
- Rosa Parks
Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly and use alternate routes during the event’s hours.
