The #2-ranked Indians made quick work on the road even in the pouring rain in a 10-0 win at Athens Christian on Friday. It marked the seventh straight win for TFS.
It was 8-0 by halftime, as goals were scored by Jackson Cording (Austin Ball assist), Ball (Turney assist), Cording (Ball), Ball (Landon Hall), Hall (Clay Kafsky), Kale Borchers (Ball), Ball, and an own goal (Borchers assist). That flurry of goals sped up the game, as Hall scored in the second half off a helper from Jake Wehrstein. Cording added another goal on yet another Ball assist.
“We started strong,” says coach Jeremy Stille. “Jackson Cording scored within the first 20 seconds of the game. Play continued slowly after that due to the wet conditions and hard rain. We picked up the pace halfway into the first half but finished the half with eight goals. Boys came out in a different formation in the second half and passed very well to put the final two goals in within the first four minutes.
The Indians are now 11-1 overall and 8-0 in region play.
