Clarkesville hosts Red, White & Tunes Friday

If you like concerts and fireworks, Clarkesville has punched your ticket for weekend fun. The city is hosting Red, White, and Tunes this Friday, July 15, at Pitts Park.

“Residents and visitors alike can look forward to another great event this year with kids activities, fantastic food and drinks available in the park, great music, and patriotic fireworks,” says Clarkesville Main Street Director Colby Moore.

Admission is free.

The event will kick off at 6 p.m. with kids’ activities in the park including balloon art, professional face painters, and a 65-foot-long inflatable obstacle course.

Food vendors will be selling a variety of options including hot dogs, hamburgers, bbq, boiled peanuts, fresh squeezed lemonade, and desserts from Sugartopia. An Oba! Brazilian food truck will be set up in the park. Alcoholic drinks will also be sold.

Moore says shuttles will provide transportation for guests between the park and downtown square throughout the night.

At 7:30 p.m., the Steve Bryson Band will perform, followed by fireworks around 9:30 p.m.

Clarkesville Mayor Barrie Aycock says she’s “thankful for our community sponsors and their support” of this year’s event.

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and umbrellas (just in case). The Friday evening forecast for Habersham County calls for a chance of evening showers and thunderstorms.
