The White County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on two proposed changes to the county code. The hearing will be held during the commission meeting on Monday, June 5.
The first proposed code change is in chapter 10, dealing with Animal Control. It would update the code to reflect revisions in State law, giving Animal Control Officers discretion in dealing with repeat offenders.
The other matter deals with building regulations and code enforcement. The proposed code revision would require minimum square footage for dwellings in the county. The change states that every single or two-family dwelling shall meet a minimum size requirement of 672 square feet of heated space.
A draft of the proposed county code revisions is available at https://www.whitecountyga.gov/county-clerk.
The public hearing will begin at 4 p.m. in the board meeting room of the White County administration building located 1235 Helen Highway in Cleveland.
