Close to 140 former Georgia high school players are active on opening-day NFL rosters in a season that begins Thursday with a game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Buffalo Bills. Georgia’s total is up from about 125 last season and represents nearly 1 in 12 active NFL players.
About 25 are rookies, including No. 1 overall pick Travon Walker from Upson-Lee with the Jaguars.
Hillgrove, Peachtree Ridge and Stephenson each have four alumni on active rosters.
The Baltimore Ravens have the most former Georgia players with 10. The Falcons have nine. Every NFL team has at least one Georgia player.
GHSF Daily does the research by comparing active NFL rosters to Georgia’s 2022 draftees, NFL combine invitees and past NFL players from the state. Please report errors or omissions, which are inevitable, as NFL rosters are fluid and difficult to research for high school data. The list includes only players on active rosters or injured reserve as of noon Tuesday. It does not include players on practice squads or unable-to-perform or suspended lists.
Players on injured reserve are noted by the initials IJ.
