Cleveland police investigate armed robbery at local convenience store

Cleveland Police are investigating the armed robbery of a local convenience store.

Around 9:43 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, officers responded to a report of a robbery at in the 700 block of Helen Highway.

According to a press release from Cleveland Police Chief Jeff Shoemaker, the clerk told officers that an unknown male dressed in all black entered the store with his face covered. The suspect had a gun and demanded that the clerk give him all the money in the cash register. The clerk complied, Shoemaker says. The suspect left on foot and was last seen walking south toward Helen Highway.

The suspect is described as a dark-complected male of unknown race with a slender to medium build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with face covering, dark shorts, dark leggings, black shoes, and light-colored gloves.
