Cleveland city officials and staff are on the second day of a three-day retreat at Lake Lanier Islands in Buford to discuss the city’s future. The retreat began on Wednesday, May 14.

The three days will be spent looking at what is happening in Cleveland and discussing the City of Cleveland’s 2025/2026 priorities. Housing, infrastructure, and services provided will highlight their time.

City Administrator Kevin Harris says this will be good for everyone involved.

“It’s really a best practice for local governments and municipalities. It’s good to sort of get out because people don’t realize most of the elected officials, they all have full-time jobs and full-time lives and this is a way to sort of dedicate two days sort of to the future, whether it’s next fiscal year or the next three to five years of the city of Cleveland,” commented Harris.

Harris said they hope to develop a game plan for the city during the retreat for the next three to five years.
