Cleveland man sought in connection with armed bank robbery

Gainesville Police are searching for a Cleveland man wanted in connection with an armed bank robbery in Gainesville. The suspect is identified as John-Ray A Brown. 

Brown allegedly robbed the Wells Fargo branch at 1925 Jesse Jewell Parkway, according to a release on the department’s Facebook page. He has outstanding warrants for armed robbery, aggravated assault, theft by taking and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

The robbery occurred around 9 a.m. on November 8th. “A lone armed black male approached a bank employee in the teller line and demanded money. The male subject obtained a sum of cash and fled the bank,” the release states.

The case remains under investigation by the Gainesville Police Department. Brown remains at large.

The GBI, FBI, Georgia State Patrol, Cleveland Police Department, Hall County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Department of Community Supervision (Probation/Parole) have assisted in the case.
