Cleveland man indicted for wife’s murder

The White County Grand Jury on Tuesday indicted a Cleveland man on murder charges in the death of his wife.

Emilio Catroppa is accused of running over Jennifer Catroppa with a truck at their Cleveland home on October 23, 2022. She was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with serious injuries and died nine days later.

Investigators initially charged Catroppa with aggravated assault with a motor vehicle under the Family Violence Act (FVA). They later upgraded the charges against him to malice and felony murder.

In addition to murder, the grand jury indicted Catroppa for vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident, aggravated assault, and hit and run.
