The Cleveland City Council, during a called meeting and following a second public hearing, unanimously approved the city’s FY24 budget.

The $4.4 million plan provides for a 3.5% cost of living adjustment for full-time employees, adds an additional full-time firefighter, and increases the hourly rate for part-time firefighters to $15 per hour.

The budget and approved pay raises take effect on July first.

The council also approved a new Leak Protection plan for residential water customers that adds $2 more to the water bill each month that will be dedicated to reimbursing customers with leaks discovered between the city water line and the residence. The maximum reimbursement per calendar year will be $1,000.

The program begins with the August billing cycle.

Additionally, the council approved Linda Dixon to serve on the city housing authority.
