Cleveland City Council to hold final hearing on alcohol package sales referendum tonight

Cleveland residents will get one last say tonight on whether the city council should put liquor stores to a vote. The Cleveland City Council has scheduled a public hearing on the issue at 6:30 p.m. This will be the second public hearing on a proposed alcohol package sales referendum.

The meeting will be held in the Cleveland Community Center/Police Department at 342 Campbell Street beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Following tonight’s hearing, the council is expected to vote on whether to authorize a special referendum in November to let voters decide whether to allow package sales in the city.

Also during tonight’s called meeting, the Cleveland City Council is expected to discuss entering into an agreement with White County Elections Services to conduct city elections.
