The city of Cleveland will not roll back the millage rate this year, according to a news release from the city council. Instead, city officials intend to keep the current millage rate of 5.056 mills.
Since the rollback rate is lower than the proposed millage rate, state law requires the city to hold three public hearings.
The public hearings are set for 8 a.m. on August 1 and August 8 at the Cleveland Community Center/Police Department. The third and final hearing will be held in the same building at 342 Campbell Street at 6 p.m. on August 8.
The mayor and council are expected to adopt the 2024 property tax millage rate immediately following the third public hearing.
The city’s legal ad announcing the millage rate says the mayor and council work to keep it “as low as possible while providing the necessary services to the ever-growing population.”
